Now that the TOC is created, and all the relevant information is gathered, start developing the content. A good technical writer will spend more than 70% of time to gather information. Creating document becomes easy when the relevant information is already available. By this time, we will have the prototype of the document, and also the template to create the document. And most importantly, we will have the information. Then why to wait? Start developing the content.
While creating the document, we should understand our reader. Who is going to be our reader or the audience? An expert audience may not like the basic information, and similarly a novice audience will not understand the complete document when we skip the basic information. Based on the requirement of the audience, the document has to be created. A best way to create a feasible document is to put ourselves in the shoes of the audience. The technical writer should implement the possible creativity in narrating the document and presenting it in the most presentable way.
Adding links, including pictures, creating maps, linking flowcharts, and so on, adds extra value to the document. Anything and everything to make a document better is an excellent idea to create a quality document. After all creativity is our job!!
